UP-TO-DATE WEATHERIZATION. Avista, the local electricity provider, has upgraded each and every building and apartment with exterior and interior compact fluorescent energy saving lights, and reinforced attic and crawl space insulation in both our Pullman and Moscow properties. This will insure that maximum savings accrue to our tenants as a result of lowered electicity and heating bills.

Lynn Myers, our General Manager, has been at the helm since 2008.  Lynn comes to us from St. Louis, Mo, with a great deal of relevant experience. She is in charge of all apartment operations. Lynn is very sincere and anxious to provide as good a service to our tenants as can be. To assist her in this endeavor we have also increased our maintenance staff. As a result, we have been experiencing an all around improvement. Lynn truly cares about our tenants and has been making herself available to each and every tenant.

Jennifer Hanson is in charge of our Moscow office. Jennifer brings a true commitment to making sure that our tenants' needs are met in a timely and professional manner. Jennifer comes from Portland and has extensive customer service experience. We are delighted to have her on board.

our office staff in Pullman has further been strengthened with the addition of Kendra Jensen, our office manager. Kendra comes from Alaska. She prides herself with knowing most, if not all, tenants by name and address. Our maintenance staff is dedicated to doing their best to ensure that all works wel,l and that any arising needs be taken care of promptly. The Pullman and Moscow teams are at the ready to assist you in making your housing experience as easy and pleasurable as can be.

Rent Scholarships . For the second consecutive year, Apartment Rentals has awarded several Rent Scholarships to qualifying residents. (Click here for details). Our lifelong personal association with education is obviously at work here. Rent Scholarships are offered to the highest ranking Washington State University and University of Idaho students. We are proud to be able to assist deserving students just as we were grateful to receive analogous assistance ourselves during our own student years.

As the semester came to a close and many of our current occupants rushed to renew their leases, we feel it's appropriate to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to all who have chosen to stay with us yet another year. Our longest renting tenant has now passsed the 20-year mark!

CONTINUING TENANTS. As is the tradition, a new lease must be signed every year. Of course, university schedules play a role as leases, usually but not necessarily, start in August of each year. This is a ritual that neither tenants nor we particularly enjoy. But if you are already renting from us, re-renting could not be simpler. Sometime before your lease expires we may offer you the opportunity to renew on special terms. Please call us if you wish to use our express renewal. This year, we have been amazed and gratified by the record number of renewals. Typically, the exact same lease form gets signed for the coming school year and rate adjustments get accounted for. And the best news for renewing tenants is the significant discount: Our renewing tenants are especially valued --- they always pay less than the market rate if they stay in the same apartment.

NEW TENANTS. If you are thinking of renting from us, do it as early in the university rental season as possible as the choice of apartments gets whittled down and rates go up. The first step is to qualify as our tenant. In most cases we are able to inform you right away if you qualify. The next step is to secure an apartment. You can contact us by email, by phone (Pullman: 509 332 8622, Moscow: 208 882 4721), or by fax (509 332 6886). Using this website will save a lot of time. By the time you are ready to look at your apartment choice, you will be as well-informed as can be. And once you settle on your choice, we will sign the lease. That's all there is to it.

Enhancements. In other Apartment Rentals news, all our three-bedroom and some two-bedroom apartments at The Elysian Fourplexes now offer stackable washers and dryers. These apartments are quite popular. There is no doubt that this new amenity will make them even more desirable. Also, we have been gradually increasing our interior pictures archive. As an example, please take a look at The West View Terrace Apartments or The Elysian Fourplexes. We strive to provide as much information as possible.

New acquisition. We begin 2010 with an addition to our Moscow house holdings. The three-bedroom house at 206 S.Garfield abutsThe Elysian Fourplexes property and is therefore of special interest to our portfolio of holdings.

Our website continues to bring us success and pride. It is among the highest ranking sites of its kind in the world. It has been designed, written and is being updated by the owner himself. We feel gratified with the attention it has received not only from apartment seekers and fellow web masters, but also from all search engines as it now ranks very high. The number of hits keeps growing -- we reached a new high recently with several thousand hits per day. Our goal has been to present as much information in as much an accessible manner as possible. We simply believe that better information will greatly enhance the likelihood of a hassle-free and satisfying rental relationship.
